Chapter 3: Lion's Fury (Canon)

[Silver]

Brownie was frozen in his place when Mkali came in, his blue eyes wide at the male but just frowned in the end, giving out a sigh. "So much for telling them ourselves." He mumbled quietly, ears back as he looked at Dhahabu, "now what? I highly doubt Frost will let either one of us out of this alive."

[Blaze]

A wistful sigh escaped Dhahabu as he looked down at the ground. His lower jaw trembled. "I royally messed up. But Frost isn't the type to attack. At least not physically. There will be a very... very nasty argument. I know that much." He lifted his head up to look at the male beside him. "Worst case scenario, we'll be told to leave the caves. But... I'll take Aina with us. I won't be separated from my daughter."

Mkali looked at the cub. Seeing her paw at Blaze and himself would normally have caused a grim expression on his face to fade into a smile. But not this time. This time it involved the poor girl's mother. He turned his head to look at the red lion in front of him. "Can you play with Aina? I need to let Frost know of what I learned." Seeing Blaze nod in agreement he wandered off to Ana's cave, expecting Frost to be there, having heard the wail of despair that the cream-furred lioness let out himself.
It did not take him long to arrive in the cave. As he suspected he saw Frost there, looking at the distraught Grand Duchess. He cleared his throat. "Frost... I need to tell you something. It's... about Dhahabu." Solemnly he stood at Frost's ear, and whispered all that he knew to her. His stomach dropped as he saw tears start to stream from the cerulean blue eyes of his devastated daughter.
"He... he cheated? Went... went behind my back?" Frost asked aloud. A dull pain, real or imaginary she did not know, throbbed in her chest. The pain of heartbreak.

[Asani]

The little golden cub watched her grandfather walk away and turned her attention back up towards her Uncle, beginning to paw at him again.

[Silver]

Brownie laid his ears back slightly, not enjoying the idea of an argument but lowered his muzzle to give Dhahabu a small lick on the cheek. "You aren't the only one who messed up, we both did by not saying sooner to everyone." Brownie sat down with is head turned up slightly to the ceiling as if in thought, he shook his head however after awhile as he turned his attention to the front of the cave, ears perked up slightly as he watched one of his daughters walk by. "Where will we go if we leave the caves?" Brownie finally asked as he adverted his attention away from Adimu and back to Dhahabu. "We can't travel for long with a young cub and I'm sure that Frost would like to see her every so often, you can't deprive her of seeing her cub."

[Hero58]

Wedger groans in pain and then she growls "Yeah it is!" she nearly shouts her words at him.

[Sabre]

Sabre's stomach falls when he hears what happened with Dhahabu, his concern was still centered on his mate...when his eyes fall on the fetus. He feels his heart drop and he slowly walks over to Ana and nuzzles her head in saddness.

[Coral]

Jasiri let off a small mewel as he waddled over to his sister, his little paws shakey with every step. The little boy then stood there for a few moments before reconizinng his sissy's tail; taking intrest in it... he attempted to swat at it playfully.

Coral gave herself a small shake in mere-boredom before glancing down to Frost's kids and smiling softly.

[Asani]

Aina stared back at her twin brother and rolled over onto her back in submission, her ears flattening against the sides of her head, when she saw that he was playing she immediately rolled back over and began to paw at him.

<sub>Nikita looked up to her mother, tears trickling down her cheeks.
"Buh...but what about Peke?"
Before her mother could give an answer, she looked after Ishana sad. She flattened her ears, knowing that it was true. Ishana was her best friend, but Peke was her bestest. She felt horrible for what her choice would mean to Ishana, but she knew Peke would not be able to stay, therefore, she couldn't either. Standing, she sniffled and nudged her mothers leg before leading the way out of the den. She paused in the threshold, glancing back into the caves, knowing that Ishana wouldn't hear her.
"I'll come back for you....one day Ishana..."


The Belikov pride simply scoffed at Kawaida's words, unmoved by the stranger. Sacha's parents watched the small family's departure. Dimitri standing proud with a firm face and Rosemarie's eyes swelling with tears. The four brothers tossed back their heads, roaring a farewell to their baby sister and brother.
Sacha kept her own head held high, her face poised and regal, even though she was just kicked out of her family. She didn't speak or change her slow pace until well out of the border. Cresting atop a sand and rock hill, she paused looking out over the desert that sprawled before them. A single tear slipped past and trickled down her cheek. Misha sighed, gazing at his sister sadly. Wordlessly, he nudged her neck, giving a small smile. The great lioness turned to her brother and returned the smile, licking his cheek with gratitude. Turning to Kawaida, she smiled and pressed her maw against his, flicking her ears forth.


The wailing did not stop when those dearest to her came rushing in. Jade eyes stared at the bloody mess before her, unable to comprehend what had happened. It was gone. The dream she had prayed for was ripped from her paws by the heartless claws of death. Clawing forth on her belly, she nudged the underdevloped fetus with her nose, thinking that she had only given birth and the child was sleeping.
"C'mon, wake up. It's okay, moma's here. Wake up, please? PLEASE?!"
Her desperate words fell upon dead ears, literally. Sobbing, she scooped the "cub" in her arms, cradling it tenderly.</sub>

[Sabre]

Tears begin to well up in Sabre's eyes as he comes to the revelation of what happened. He gently crawls over to Ana and lays down next to her and sadly nuzzles her cheek.

[Blaze]

Kawaida felt the great lioness' maw press against his own. Despite wanting to stay strong for Sacha, he felt a pang of sadness over the separation she now faced from her own family. From the majority of it at any rate. His emerald eyes peered intently at the lioness. "Sacha... I'm sorry it turned out this way. Is there any place you have in mind that we can go?"

Frost turned her head away from the grieving pair. From what she saw, it was far from a pleasant sight. It made her stomach turn, and so she closed her eyes, trying to block out the image with thoughts of what she would do to Dhahabu. "I'm... I'm so sorry you two. I'll... I'll leave you to grieve. You two need each other now, most of all."
With nothing more to say she padded out of their den, heartbreak, both from Dhahabu's betrayal and from the loss that Sabre and Ana were feeling, though mostly from the latter, clutching at her. Her thoughts quickly turned venomous. Vengeful. He'll be lucky if he leaves these caves intact, she mused.
The red male noticed the twins playing together and chuckled softly. The laugh, however, was empty. It was filled with sadness, not mirth, knowing how their father had just betrayed their mother. And so grievously. His scarlet eyes noticed the flavescent lioness pass by. They caught the fury burning within the normally calm cerulean blue eyes. With a noticeable shudder he turned his attention once more to Jasiri and Aina, and began to paw at the two wrestling cubs.

[Ishana]

Ishana hauled herself to her feet. She felt numb with crying. Her little eyes were red and her face and paws wet. "I must keep living." She picked up her brother and "carried" him back to the twins and let him down. 'Shana smiled fakely at Blaze and said in a shakey and and hoarse voice (for a cub mind you), "Hello m'lord." All her old over-inforced manners now applied again. She nudged her brother to play and walked off to find comfort, work, or someone in need of comfort more than she. Ishana remembered the wail she had heard much earier. There was one problem; she didn't know where to find the lioness! She looked around a bit before curling up by one of the tunnel walls and just looking around. "Nothing matters anymore... my only family now is my brother. No one in this pride has time for an orphaned cub. Besides! Who would want me? I'm a shame to my family." The scar on her head stood as a strong marker of this. When she was young, she learned the hard way that Shura was not really her "moma", but her owner and caretaker. She had never loved her.

[Hero58]

Wedger then lays down onto her stomach, letting the course of life take its toll on her, she somehow easily manages to get through the cycle of birth. When its over, four cubs lay there. Two boys and two girls, all of them letting out cries as they finally entered this world.

She then scoots them close to her to keep them warm against her fur, the cubs easily become warm rather quickly, their eyes still shut as Wedger licked them clean.

One of the boys had wedger's black fur but he also had spots of blue where his mane would grow. The other child was Gold and And had a black area where his mane would grow.

As for the girls they both had white fur, but one had a gold pattern on the underbelly, the other one has a blue pattern on its underbelly.

[Asani]

Ayo wandered in towards his mother and noticed her stomach. "Why are you all fat Mommy? Did you eat too much?" he asked tilting his head.

[Coral]

Jasiri tilted his head to the side a little when his sister cowered, only for it to take a few minutes until he once again tried to pounce her playfully and avoid Blaze's big paw at the same time.

Coral laid down on her stomache and stretched her front paws, flicking her tail boredly. Coral glanced back at Ayo before face-pawing. "Nope..."
