Biography: Kawaida initially hailed from a pride whose name he has long since forgotten, driven out by his father at the age of eight. As he wandered alone, fate one day decided to intervene. It was on that day that he met Mkali, who took him into his pride and took care of the child.
As the years passed he became the beta of the Mlinzi pride, seeing Mkali's eldest son, Blaze, as a dear cousin to him. When Mkali feigned his death, Kawaida stood down as beta, and had served as head guardian for the Mlinzi pride during Blaze's reign. That is, until Sacha, former head guardian of the Heshima pride, turned rogue. Out of love for her he too forsook the pride that had been home to him for the majority of his life.
Recently, he and Sacha came to settle in the lands that Heshima once fled to when the herds had moved on from Heshima's original lands. These new lands were then fled from as the Bolsheviks declared war, with the Heshima pride moving into Mlinzi territory as they prepared for war.
Recently Sacha, Vera, Kafeel, himself, and his two surviving cubs settled in the area that Heshima made their egress from to escape the Bolsheviks. Settling here, they established the Rai pride, and have since begun to make these lands their own.
