Biography: Frost was born in the Mlinzi pride in the same year the current king Blaze was, on the same day, though a few minutes afterward. Ordinarily, among the Mlinzi this would already be considered strange enough. Stranger still is the relationship she has with Blaze, that of half-siblings. In a time where the numbers of the Mlinzi pride were dwindling, Mkali was forced to keep his pride alive by acting upon a provision of being king. Though Mkali had taken a queen, Utulivu, as the only male in the pride at that time it was his responsibility to mate the other females to preserve the pride. Frost's mother, Matumaini, was one such lioness. As a cub Frost was never told of her relation to Mkali and her half-brothers Blaze and Soren, to protect her from the intrigues of the royal family.
When Soren became king after Blaze had abdicated and was exiled, Frost had already been aware of her blood relation to the exiled crown prince and the king. As such, when Soren sought her as his own queen, she fought against his advances, disgusted by the thought.
With Soren's death and Blaze's crowning as the king he was meant to be, and also reluctant to be, Frost was among the many in the pride who were relieved. She holds her half-brother and his mate in high regard, seeing that they are kinder than Soren was.
When the herds moved on and the lions of the Heshima-Mlinzi pride with them, Frost quickly fell behind, her role in the prides as a medicine lion not well suited for walking or running great distances due to the Mlinzi pride's mountainous terrain.
Eventually, weakened by hunger, she collapsed in a field, unknowingly near where the pride's new home was for the time being.
