"He was very sick... He's dead," Blaze said. He rested his head once more at his father's side and closed his eyes.
Thump. Thump thump.
The young king's eyes shot wide open. "It... it can't be..." he muttered.

Ayo squirmed free from Coral's paws and ran next to Blaze placing his front paws on Mkali's mane. "Grampa?" he asked hopefully.

Mkali's form shuddered as a light cough erupted from him. His eyes slowly opened, and a chuckle escaped him. "I guess... it's not my time just yet."

"Grampa! You're alright!" Ayo said jumping up and down before climbing up on Mkali.

Sabre stands back up, surprised and joyed that Mkali is still alive. "Ok, I need a few guards to help Mkali, we need to get moving."

Coral froze in place for a few moments, amazed that the older lion could actually survive. Coral smiled widely before turning around, "I'll help.. it's the least I could do." she said to Sabre, looking back at Blaze and his dad.

"Come on Dad!" Peke called back standing next to Ayo. Ayo felt a little unsure about leaving the place he called "home". "Mommy..I dont wanna leave..." he said quietly as Coral walked out.

Coral sighed, "We have to Ayo... or we won't be able to eat and people will get sick and... er, die." she said to the cub.

Peke ran on ahead of the pride cave and stood on a rock looking out across the land, a distant breeze ruffling through his mane. The young prince was excited about heading to a new place, he wasnt upset about it like Ayo was, but looked forward to it as a new adventure. Looking back at the pride cave Peke saw his father. "Man Dad's slow.." he thought to himself. "DAD!" Peke called back impatiently.
"Like Grampa did?" Ayo asked looking up at his mother, his crimson eyes growing wide at the thought of everybody in the pride dying from starvation.

"Well.. err. he didn't exactly die." Coral said, looking back and seeing Blaze with his father. She couldn't help but smile, how she would love for her father to be here... even if she doesn't know him. Coral looked up at the sky for a second before looking back at Ayo and ruffling his tuft, "Don't worry Ayo, I got your back."
