Biography: Born to the king and queen of the Mlinzi (Guardian) pride alongside his younger brother Soren. Being the eldest son of the king and queen, his parents groomed him to fit into his role of heir-apparent, a role he had no desire for. Any time he did not meet his father's expectations, which happened often, he would be beaten by the king. Two occasions left him with the scar over his right eye and on his left cheek. At the age of sixteen, the lionesses were looking to take him as a mate, though he declined them all, feeling they only wanted him for his position and not because they loved him.
Eventually the day came where his parents passed on, when he was eighteen, and he was asked to succeed the throne. He declined however, and passed the role of pride leader to Soren, as he had no desire to be a king. Soren "rewarded" his brother's abdication of the throne by banishing Blaze, fearing a possible rebellion sometime in the future.
Wandering for six months, Blaze eventually came to the Heshima Pride, where he was allowed sanctuary by Sabre and Rose. Only they know of his past; who he once was and why he has his scars. He looks for a mate, but only one who is genuinely interested in him for who he is, which is why he does not wish his past to be known by the pride. He feels indebted to Sabre and Rose for accepting him into the pride, and would gladly put his life on the line to protect them and their children, having taken up a role of warrior for the Pride.
Recently his brother Soren came to the Heshima Pride, claiming to be taking his brother back to the Mlinzi pride to be tried for matri-patricide. Falsely accused of murdering his parents, Blaze challenged his brother to a trial by combat, a tradition in the Mlinzi pride, for the right to the throne. A fight to the death.
In a vicious fight between the two brothers, Blaze ended up as the victor, despite heavy wounds received after Soren used an underhanded tactic. Now king of the Mlinzi pride, he extended an offer to Sabre for their prides to merge; an offer Sabre accepted.
Having told Coral how he felt about her, the two have since become mates, with twin sons together.
