Asani woke up pretty late in the afternoon that day. He walked out into the sun which blinded him for a few good moments until his eyes adjusted and looked around. He saw his father and sat by him on his rock. "Morning Daddy.." he yawned.

Asani laid down on the ground still feeling a tad sleepy. He began to flick his tail back and forth.

Blaze was standing outside on the same rock, looking down. "Today's the day. It's time to face my brother. I can't run from my past any longer." He looks to Asani and smirks. "At least my leg's all better. Soren doesn't stand a chance."

The cub looked up at Blaze and smiled. "The fight's gonna be today? Can I watch Daddy? Can I?"

"You have to stay close to me son, no wandering off." Sabre says, looking down at him.

"I believe Davu said he'd be watching this trial as an observer. There are always three observers. I remember you said you would be one, Sabre. Davu is interested as well. And then there's the second-in-line of the Mlinzi pride as the third," Blaze states. He looks at Sabre, a determined gleam in his eyes. "I'm not holding back against my brother. Not when there's so much on the line; the state of the Mlinzi pride, the state of your pride, and my own life." He looks out to the horizon again. "My brother will most certainly have gotten stronger in the time since he exiled me, in case someone ever challenged him for the throne. But he still won't win this day. He might have gotten stronger, but so have I. And if I do win... I'll announce that I plan to merge the Mlinzi pride with Heshima. "But for that to take place, the king of the other pride, in this case you Sabre, must officially accept in front of the pride offering and your own."

"If you do anything that they don't like, Blaze dies. It's how their traditions go son." He looks down at his son as he speaks.

"Traditions Smhitions...Why cant you just beat him up in his sleep? um...what's a tradition?" he asked returning his gaze to Sabre. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Kabibe laid in the grass on her back the slight breeze making it tickle her nose, she giggled and then sneezed slightly. "Daddy? Will you play with me today?" she asked looking up at him laying her head bacakwards onto the ground.

"A tradition is a practice that is passed down from generation, from the older lions to the younger, in a constant cycle. My pride, for instance, has the trial by combat as one of our traditions. As for the Heshima pride, I can't really say; I haven't been here long enough to be an expert on the traditions here," Blaze answers. He looks at Sabre. "I haven't seen Noche around in a while. Maybe he's finally given up on flirting with Coral."
"Not for a while today Kabibe. There's an important matter going on in your friend Asani's kingdom. There's going to be a fight today, and I'm supposed to be observing it. It's an honor battle," Davu answers.
