Ayo ran and got some leaves and nudged them next to Mkali with his nose. "These will make you feel better Grampa.."

Mkali shook his head, chuckling. "I'm sorry Ayo... but I don't think they will. It seems that my old illness has resurfaced with a vengeance. I'll be lucky if I live long enough to see tomorrow."

The lioness who spoke to Blaze earlier turned to Sabre, shaking her head. "Nothing. Only a miracle can save him now."

Ayo turned and walked back out to Sabre and Peke, not hearing what the lioness said, thinking that all Mkali needed was sleep. "Come on Peke.. Let's go back out and play!" The two cubs then raced eachother back out of Heshima. "I AM gonna beat you this time!" "No you're not!" Peke shouted as he ran past the smaller cub with ease.

Blaze sat down on his haunches beside his weakening father. He lowered his head. "This is tragically ironic... we're starting to repair our relationship... and now..."

Ayo ran up to the tree as Peke sat there smiling. "I win!" "No fair...that's because you're bigger than me.." Ayo said looking around. "There! I bet I can beat you across the river.." Peke looked at the water. "I dont know...It looks kinda big.." "Ya scared?" Ayo asked smirking slightly. Peke's face became determined. "You're on!" Both cubs ran to the water's edge. "On your mark...get set...go!" but neither cub moved and only stared into the water when the tide pulled the two cubs into the river. "HELP!" Peke cried out.

Sabre hears the cubs shout and runs out of the cave at high speeds.

Ayo goes under tumbling in the current while Peke tries grabbing onto an overhanging tree branch. Peke began coughing. "Ayo?" he asked looking around not seeing his friend nearby.
Far downstream Ayo's body washed up on shore, unconcious from being underwater for a period of time.

Blaze had run out of the cave after Sabre, looking around frantically for the missing cubs. "Where are they!?"

"There!" Sabre shouts when he sees Peke, he runs to the cub. "Peke! Are you alright??"

Peke climbed down backwards before landing on the ground sitting. "I'm alright Dad..just wet." he replied to Sabre looking up at him.
An elephant was grazing on some leaves when he saw Ayo's body. "Poor little fella..." he thought while looking around and picking up Ayo's body and laying him on his back. "You'll be safe up here.", then he goes back to eating.

Blaze walked over to Peke, frantic. "Where's Ayo?" His fur started to turn slightly more red, his concern for his son taking over.
