Chapter 4: Time of peace...

[Flash]

Shiva walked forward, she had no idea where she was going but it didn't matter she just had to get away from her old pride. The tawny lioness had dark brown ear rims and one brown hind paw as well as some brown spots on her face. In her jaws she carried a small sleeping cub who swung back and forth with every step she took,.the cub was very young and Shiva didn't dare put young Niomi down. Walking swiftly she wanted to find a new home where she and Niomi could be excepted. Shiva was exteremly thin, rarely stopping to eat she only stopped to feed Niomi. At the moment, and not to her knowledge, Shiva had run well within Heshima lands and was still going strong. It was getting rather dark so she decided to stop and feed Niomi and take a small nap. Finding some deep grass and flattened a section making a comfortable area for them to sleep in laying Niomi down in the middle and the wrapping herself around her young daughter.

( I decided to bring in a new character Um... If anyone wants to play Niomi your welcome to just ask first. ^_^)

aww, I could take Niomi if you wanted, it might boost my Hesh muse back into play, but if you would like somebody else to play her that's fine too :3 )

Niomi's scrawny light tan body hung limp in her mother's jaws, which, even though she could massacre a full grown zebra, carried the tiny cub with absolute care. As her mother walked along, the motion had made the little female fall asleep, her small dark rimmed ears hung limply at the side's of her head, twitching in her sleep on occasion as the duo walked. The female's eyes began to open somewhat as she was laid down upon a flat-grass bed, but immediately fell back asleep once feeling the shadow and heat of her mother who had curled up around her.

[Flash]

Flash woke up and yawned, glancing around she gave her ruffled fur a few quick licks to settle it back down. Glancing about the albino teen wasn't sure of what she wanted to do with one more yawn and quick stretch to wake herself up she would glance about her amber eyes flickering around the cave. " I think I'll take a walk... " She would murmur to herself before walking at a brisk pace toward the exit and into the morning light blinking her eyes quickly to adjust. The quiet teen started off on her walk going deeper and deeper into Heshima lands. Pretty soon she caught a strange scent, it was a lion she could at least tell that but she didn't recognize it. With a swift flick of her tail she would turn and run back to the pride. She was never one for bravery and new that if it was an adult she stood no chance if it attacked her. Quickly she would attempt to find someone to tell about the strange scent she had picked up her amber eyes flickering about until she located someone she could tell.

Shivas head lifted quickly, she could have sworn she had heard someone or maybe it was just her nerves. Either way she was still tired and wanted to get some rest but not quite yet, she was rather hungry but ignored it. Getting up she would swiftly lick the top of Niomis head to rouse her and then would proceed to gently lift her. What Shiva needed now was water, and she needed it badly, padding off she would search until she found a medium size puddle. Enough to sate her thirst, gently she placed her cub down and would quickly lap up some water before finding somewhere to rest nearby. Once she and Niomi were well rested she would set off again she decided.

Wedger knowing there was a kill, didn't join the group. Even though it was a time of peace she still had her uncertainties that this was over. She watched her cubs playing with each other, walking up eventually when the playing starts to get to rough, spreading the two males apart "Alright boys that's enough, you two are getting a bit violent".

The two young males groaned at this, but seeing how they're mother began to give them "the look" they backed down and nodded at her. This caused the two sisters to laugh at they're siblings. The two girls were the most mature when playing with each other, knowing not to get to rough with each other.

Wedger only let a small smirk spread across her face, eventually she went over to where the kill was and took a large enough piece to feed her cubs. Licking her muzzle to wipe off the blood. In truth the female was hungry by just a little, yet the event over the past months during the war, having to let her adoptive zebra son go. Was the hardest thing she had ever done in her life. Even though she took a piece of Zebra back to her cubs, the sight of seeing a dead Zebra reminded her of the adoptive son. Any zebra that was brought in the past she never ate, she would eat antelope, buffalo, elephant, giraffes, anything all except Zebra.

She felt the urge to let out a tear but she held it back, changing her expression to make her look tough, like as if the zebra didn't bother her. Even though it did...

[Flash]

Flash was growing more and more distraught when she couldn't find anyone until she caught sight of Sabre. She had seen Blaze earlier but what if the lion she scented was a male, she shook the thought of her head. She loved Blaze he was like a father to her she never thought of him as weak, only strong. Walking at a brisk pace till she was only a yard away from him she waited patiently for him to notice her, saying softly. " Sabre.. I scented someone nearby.. It was a lion but I didn't get close enough to see anything... I thought I should tell you. " The white teen quickly stated what she wanted to say her ears pinned back against her head slightly. " I didn't think it would be a good idea for me to investigate... " She nibbled on her bottom lip as she waited for a response.
Shiva couldn't take it anymore, she was starving every one of her ribs was sticking out. She didn't have the energy to move, she looked down at her precious daughter. " I'm sorry.. " She murmured softly into the small dark rimmed ear. She was angry at herself, she couldn't take care of her daughter even though she had made a promise to do just that. She just laid there, waiting to die. She would fight to live for as long as possible, who knew? Maybe a miracle would occur. She had to try and keep her daughter alive no matter what. Forcing herself to her feet she sniffed around a couple yards away there was a half-eaten rabbit. Hardly a meal for a full grown lioness, it wasn't even a snack. She ate it then quickly returned to Niomi, ignoring the sour taste in her mouth. Closing her eyes she drifted into sleep, curled protectively around her baby.

[Coral]

Coral, having long lost interest in thy others would slowly stand up onto her fours - giving a light stretch of her limbs. With a powerful yawn released from her jaws, she'd take several steps forward and make a sharp turn around the corner until a white-furred body came into sight. Ah. Flash. With a light purr, she'd slowly stalk up to Flash and attempt to pull her close. "Hello, Flash." she'd hug her... in some lion way before nuzzling her softly. "I'm bored, wanna come explore around?" she'd give a toothy grin. The childish side of the queen was obviously bare and no doubt someone would be bound to pick at it. So why not feed it with a little exploration of sorts with her newly-adopted daughter? Also, don't mind Coral interrupting your conversation. Silly Queens tend to do that and snag their children away for ADVENTUREEEEEE.

[Flash]

Flash would squeak in surprise when Coral pulled her close for a hug. " Mooom." She whines, nuzzling her back for a moment she would look at Sabre seeing as she had told him everything she needed to so she could go and explore with her mommy. " Okay, lets go explore! " Flash would wiggle free of the queens grasp before turning to face her. Seeming excited her ears were pricked up though they normally hang down slightly as if they were just a bit to heavy for her head, or maybe its just her shy side. She didn't mind her mom's childish side, in fact usually when Coral would snag Flash away for ADVENTUREEE all of Flash's shyness would melt away leaving the only a hyper, happy, teen. " Where are we going to go? " She asks curiously her head cocked to one side.

[Sabre]

Sabre looks down at the young lioness after listening to her. A new threat in the lands? "I'll have to check it out Flash. If you find that scent again, stay clear of it, I'll check it out." He says, smiling. The last thing he was wanting was for anyone to get hurt, he often put himself infront of his pride when something strange was approaching them. This could just be a guard on patrol, or even something as dangerous as Xeros or Kudanganya, so they can't take any chances. He walks outside of the cave, glancing about at the savannah as he tries to see if he can find the strange scent, by chance.

[Flash]

Shiva glanced around, she had woken up starved and dehydrated. Weak as she was she stood up and gently lifted her little cub. Looking around Shiva started off, sniffing the air for anything to eat or anything she considered a threat, she was literally skin and bones. Her nostrils flaring she caught a little scent looking about she saw a dead creature, she couldn't tell what it was from a distance. Lifting her head a little higher and glancing around to her left she caught sight of a cave, at the entrance was a large male. Hissing softly she would hunker down, hopefully she wasn't seen.
Flash would nod to Sabre. "Of course." Before turning her attention back to her mother.

[Asani]

Niomi's eyes began to slowly open as she squinted to let her irises adjusted to the harsh morning light. The tiny cub's stomach began to loudly gurgle and moan with hunger as she hung from her mother's jaws. She let out a mewl as if to ask, 'when are we going to eat and how much longer until we do' kind of thing. She was certainly too little to understand why they didn't have any food, but that didn't mean that her mother couldn't certainly go and hunt something special for the two of them.

[Flash]

Shiva's eyes looked down at the small mewling cub. With a little sigh she would set out to find a safe place to put Niomi so she could try and find something small that would fill her so she could feed Niomi. Finding some tall grass she would set the small cub down before whispering in Niomis ear regardless if she understood completely or not. " Stay here little one. I'll be back soon, I promise. " She would gently nuzzle the cub before pulling away from the grass. Sniffing around she caught a scent and would begin to creep up on it. Looking up from the grass her ears held against her head she would spot a herd of zebra. One stood out to her, it must have been very old or very sick because its movements were sluggish.
Awhile later laying dead at Shivas paws was not the zebra she intended, she instead got the one that seemed intent on bashing her skull in with its hooves. Grabbing the zebra by the back of its neck she would drag it back towards Niomi, she had no intention of staying away from her daughter any longer then she had to. She hadn't gone very far but she wasn't about to take any chances, she knew that to a lot of animals a defenseless cub would be a very easy meal.

Niomi had laid on the ground surrounded by the tall Savannah grasses as her mother instructed her to do, even though she was still very small. Time passed and the only thing that really moved was the wind rustling through the trees and grasses, but still Niomi laid there. Waiting...just waiting.

Shiva finally arrived at the tall grass where Niomi laid, dragging the zebra right in front of the tall grass. Settling down she would begin to eat now that she was sure that her daughter was untouched by any of the Savannah's other residents. After a good portion of the carcass was gone the lioness would lay down very close to her cub, allowing the child to eat. Sniffing the small cub over to make sure nothing was wrong once she was close enough, she wanted to make sure her cub wasn't sick.

[Kisa]

Kisa really wasn't in the most best of moods. She was thinking about it again. The war, the blood, that final silence when it was over. It was like Rayalai, her old pride;But at least the pride she was in, was strong to defend and win. But it was normal for wars to happen, and despite being a medicine lioness, death wasn't something she was going to accustom too. Off in the distance, she could see other cubs wrestling with each other mercilessly. She sighed knowing they'll come limping towards her sooner or later with tears streaming down their faces.

[Asani]

Nadya had begun to wake up slowly and notice that her father had gone missing. Jade orbs began to look around in absolute panic as she stood up and toddled outside letting out an occasional mew hoping that Sabre would hear. Since she didn't find him nearby she began to walk off in search of him eventually coming across a lioness with another small cub who look really not that much bigger than herself. The little princess padded closer and stopped only to stare at them.

A smile appeared on Niomi's maw, grateful for the fact that she had food to eat until something else caught her eye; it was another cub. She was about to take a bite of meat until she slipped out of Shiva's paws and sat nose to nose with the unknown female.

Nadya blinked as she stared in a zoned out type of expression until the other cub poked her which caused her to jump back in fear and alarm, letting out a loud mewl which equally surprised Niomi just as much as it did Nadya.
